This was our destination - Jeddah. But to get there we drove on the road that led to Mecca along with thousands going to Hajj.
The closer we got to Meccas, the thicker the traffic.
Some were so anxious, they simply got out of their car and began walking to get to Mecca.
Muslims make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life if they can afford it to worship Mohammad and give allegiance to Islam. Here they are dressed for the occasion and walking to worship in Mecca.
Since the traffic was so slow, it was time for me to put on the black. Wallah - Wynnette in Black!
Finally we saw the sign to leave the congestion - the sign for non-muslims!
We saw the sheep on the way - what a way to travel.
We made it - Jeddah!
We stayed at the Red Sea Hotel which is attached to the Red Sea Mall.
Our first stop was to go swimming at the Red Sea.
It seemed amazing to think we were swimming in the Red Sea.
I was just ready to get in the Red Sea. Please notice the lady on my right who was walking to the Red Sea in a Muslim Swimsuit.
Dennis also went swimming in the nearby salt swimming pool.
We loved to see the boats there.
We also visited a desalination plant and learned a lot.
Faith and Gary Fitt who went with us to Jeddah and Wynnette in the restaurant where we stayed.
Food for breakfast at our restaurant connected to our hotel.
Dennis loved swimming in the Red Sea.
We loved seeing the Red Sea and enjoyed our trip to Jeddah.
