BYU vs U of U Football Game - Incredible

We bought tickets for the BYU vs U of U football and could only hope that BYU would do well but it was predicted that BYU would lose as they had lost for the past 9 years.  But there is hope!

 

This big game was on 9/11 which was the 20th anniversary of 9/11 so there were additional items added to the day including this huge flag in Provo canyon, small flags handed to all who came to the game, an amazing flyover just before the game began, etc.

We went to the BYU bookstore before the game began. 

 It was an exciting day.

Erica joined us for all the pre-game activities.  She was dressed in red to show where her loyalties were for the U of U.

The BYU Marching band showed up for the pre-game activities and played some music for us.

The cheerleaders also came and the excitement was rising.

We collected free tee shirts and got our faces painted and then ate dinner at the Varsity tent.

The BYU Marching band began their march to the stadium.

Kevin was busy watching and taking pictures of all the pre-game activities.

The Pre-game activities began at 4:00 pm and the game began at 8:15 pm so we had lots of time to prepare for this game.

The excitement was high as the BYU Football team had the day before been included into the BIG 12.  What an honor and delight. 

The football players began their march down in the 

pre-game activities.  Wow.

The football game began and we were hoping for the best.

The U of U football players looked ready.  Alas.

The first half was amazing.  The score showed BYU ahead.  But Shannon had prepared Kevin for the likely BYU loss but 

so far so good.  We were thrilled.

The half-time was awesome with the BYU and U of U bands both playing together an American song thinking about 9/11.

We loved the new scoreboard and the student section 

having large BYU flags.  Even in the second half BYU was ahead.

Incredible but BYU won 26 to 17!!!

After the game so many students ran down on the field until no one could see any green grass.  This showed the excitement of the win of BYU over the U of U.

This was such a wonderful memorable event.  Go BYU ... Go Blue
