Celebrating 45 Years Since We Met

 Exactly 45 years ago we met at Provo Utah.

 Today on Oct. 18th we began celebrating with watching the sunrise.

 This was at the beach two minutes walk from our apartment.

 I went to the Polynesian Cultural Center to arrange for our big event for the next day.

 We arrived at the PCC and watched the Canoe show which was great.

 The dancing was so entertaining.

 Then we went to the Tahitian Village and were given these "Wedding Outfits".

 Here we tried our skill at playing the drums.  Not bad.

We were one of the four couples chosen to take part in the Tahitian Wedding 

 So we were seated to wait for our turn.

We were then introduced to the PCC tourists and we told them that we have been married almost 45 years.

 Here began the story of this couple in Tahiti.

 Of course the story would not be complete without them dancing the Tamure.

 We then got in place for the wedding.

 Now both of them were in the wedding dress ready for the marriage.

The Tahitian wedding was performed first.

 The groom is first asked if he will ever leave his new wife and he says no.  Then the bride is asked if she will ever leave her husband and she says no.

 Then they step forward and a blanket is wrapped around them signifying that they are married.

We were asked the same questions and we both said no and we were again happily married.

 Notice my flower is on the left side which means I am taken.  The blanket signifys we are married.

 Wow - to renew our vows in the Tahitian Village at the PCC.  We loved it.

Here we are newly married with the Groom and Bride and very happy.

The Groom and Bride smiled with us with our "Tahitian Wedding Clothes" removed.

We loved renewing our vows at the PCC.

Then it was time for shopping.

We considered the possible Hawaiian rings.

But Dennis especially likes these shells.

 We love the waterfall in the PCC.

 We then went to Prime Dining where took tickets as a senior missionary couple.

 After taking tickets we sat with other senior missionary couples and ate a delicious dinner.

 We especially loved the crab legs and mussels.

To end the day we went to the night show.  This is the halftime where they were selling pineapple delights.  What a wonderful weekend celebrating our meeting each other 45 years ago!
